I used some knit I picked up at Persnickety Fabrics to sew up this little double ruffled peplum top version with a touch of cluny lace and buttons.
This top came together beautifully. I used to be terrified of sewing with knits until I starting using Lily Giggle patterns- Beth does such a great job of explaining knit sewing techniques and gives you some very useful tips!
This is the double ruffle peplum version of the top with long sleeves. Did I mention the top can also be made with three quarter length or short sleeves? Or a circle peplum? Or a dress? Or a cowl neck? I mean you can do SO many things with this one pattern!
I also stitched up the dress version using an ivory knit and some of my favorite fabric from Art Gallery's Emmy Grace line. This print has such a sweet vintage vibe!
I had to do the long sleeves again- because I just adore them- and added a simple strip of lace down the bodice before attaching my neck band. There is also an option for a gorgeous cowl neck!
Such a comfortable dress for this time of year with the knit bodice! My daughter loves the knit top- and I love that it looks a little bit dressy with those sleeves!
